Beth and I finished our journey to West Texas by riding Sunday to Mandeville, LA and home on Monday. There’s little to report on travel days and few items to photograph. For instance, we stopped at Waffle House. In Mandeville we spent the night with friends, Skip and Karen. The flag is on the post of their garage.
Tuesday I had the 10,000 mile service done on my bike and re-packed my things.
Today I headed out on another journey, this time with my friend, Rick. We stopped at the Alabama welcome center on US-231 to take yet another picture of the helicopter on display there. It was a flag stop on an Iron Butt ride two years ago and I’ve made it a tradition to photograph it each time I pass by.
Rick and I are in Birmingham this evening. Tomorrow we go to Eureka Springs for a couple of days of riding with the Road Glide Friends. From there we’ll tour the Southwest. Our primary destination is Rick’s daughter’s home in California,
Update: The package Beth and I sent home from Ft. Davis finally arrive today, a week after shipping it. So much for “Priority” being a priority with the Post Office.
